Our Story
At Texas Food For Thought, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged in Mexico and our local Houston community, planning to expand our outreach efforts in the near future.
Founded with a simple yet powerful mission, we believe that kindness knows no borders. Our journey began with the heartfelt desire to bring hope and relief to those in need.
Our dedicated team works tirelessly to bridge the gap between despair and hope, one care package at a time. Our story is a testament to the power of collective compassion and desire for change.

Executive Chairman of the Board
A Non-profit founder, Eagle Scout, and full time student; Austin Chao is currently a Cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point. As the founder of Texas Food For Thought, he was inspired to start this organization after a compelling mission trip to impoverished villages in Mexico. He realized the disparity between those he was serving and decided he wanted to give back to his communities. Working with the same organizations that helped inspire him, he now leads Texas Food For Thought with a determination to create lasting relationships, serve those in need, and inspire future generations to continue outreach efforts through compassion and understanding.
In addition to Austin’s extracurriculars, he is a Stokes Fellow at USMA and is active in his company Sandhurst team, cultural organizations, and Baptist Campus Ministries at West Point.
As an avid enthusiast of any large body of water, Austin dreams of going cliff diving one day in Kaunolu Bay, Hawaii. Austin is always eager to go on an adventure and can’t wait for what the future may bring.
